Travis F. Erskine joined the Houston office of Walker Wilcox Matousek LLP as an associate in 2016. He received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy from Texas A&M University in 1999, and earned his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 2003. While at South Texas, Travis was on Corporate Counsel Review and earned numerous awards. He also studied International Law, Cross Cultural Resolution and International Human Rights at the National University of Ireland in Galway in 2002.
Travis’ has significant experience in representing insurers and insurance professionals in areas of construction defects, first party/bad faith, personal injury, premise liability, maritime, oil and gas as well as commercial litigation. Travis has handled numerous lawsuits in these areas throughout Texas and obtained favorable results for his clients based on the facts and challenges of each case.
Some of Travis’ representative experience includes:
- Petri v. Peregrine Oil & Gas, LP, Summary Judgment granted in favor of Defendant, Peregrine Oil & Gas, LP, in a wrongful death and survival action based on an offshore, unmanned platform accident.
- Banks v. Avis Rent-a-Car; Summary Judgment granted in favor of Avis Rent-a-Car because there was no evidence that Avis knew or should have known that the driver-defendant was unlicensed, incompetent, or reckless when Avis rented an automobile to the negligent driver-defendant.
- Farmers Insurance Exchange v. CenterPoint Energy Resources; Jury found no liability on CenterPoint Energy Resources for $3.5 million in property damage.
