Natasha Bahri joined the Houston office of Walker Wilcox Matousek LLP as an associate in 2018. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a range of insurance matters in Texas state and federal courts. Her current practice includes defending insureds in third-party actions seeking recovery for personal injuries and property damage arising out of premises liability, negligence, negligence per se, nuisance, assault, and battery. She represents insurers in first-party actions involving breach of contract, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing, and violations of the Texas Insurance Code and Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. She also represents insurers in declaratory judgment lawsuits regarding the duty to defend and duty to indemnify.
Prior to joining the firm, she worked at a Houston-based plaintiff’s firm successfully representing insureds in first-party actions against insurers for violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and the Texas Insurance Code arising out of denials and underpayments of property damage claims. Through her experience in litigating on behalf of plaintiffs, she gained valuable insight that has proven to be advantageous in her insurance defense practice.
Natasha received her Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and Political Science from the City University of New York in 2012. During college, she worked part-time at a prominent trust and estate planning firm in New York City, and upon graduating, began working at the firm full-time to further explore her interest in the legal field. In 2013, she moved to Houston to pursue her J.D. at the University of Houston Law Center. During her time in law school, Natasha served as a Senior Articles Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law, a public interest fellow at Lone Star Legal Aid, a student attorney at the University’s Immigration Clinic, and a Research Scholar for the American Arbitration Association.
