Don Manikas has a broad range of experience in handling real estate transactions and providing assistance on other real estate matters, including (i) commercial and residential development, (ii) acquisition, development and construction financing, (iii) complex syndications, joint venture agreements, sale-leaseback transactions, and other complex deal structures; (iv) multi-state acquisitions and dispositions, (v) commercial and industrial leasing transactions, (vi) construction contract negotiation, management and litigation, and (vii) real estate-related litigation. Don prides himself on providing cost-effective, efficient legal service, focusing at all times on his clients’ needs.
Don has significant experience in commercial and residential subdivisions and development and has worked extensively with developer clients on all phases of their projects, including site location, strategic planning, contract negotiation, entitlement, due diligence, choice of entity, financing, property management, and disposition.
In addition, Don routinely handles real estate transactions, projects and other matters for our corporate clients and has represented several Fortune 500 companies in major real estate transactions involving significant acquisition, disposition, relocation, renovation and expansion projects. He has gained significant experience in handling all types of office, retail and industrial leasing transactions.
Don is frequently involved in drafting and negotiating construction agreements and has handled several significant construction projects, including major corporate office buildings, a five-star hotel, retail shopping centers, training facilities, and cogeneration/steamplant (Energy Center) for an ethanol producer.
Don has had the unique opportunity of representing a special purpose unit of government in connection with the financing, construction, maintenance, and operation of its sanitary sewer and waterworks systems. This representation has included the incorporation of the sanitary district and the financing of the construction of the sanitary sewer and water distribution systems through revenue bonds.
